EVENT: Join a slimming club.
EXERCISE: Just walking the dogs.
FOOD: Decide to reduce, bread, dairy, fatty foods, processed sugar, and meat. Instead focus on soups, salads, home made meals, vegetables and fresh fruit.

EVENT: 4 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Still just walking the dogs.
FOOD: Have managed to focus on soups, salads, home made meals, vegetables and fresh fruit and largely avoid sweets, chocolate, fatty foods or foods with added sugar or excess salt.
COMMENT: Then get very busy with work for two months, less exercise, more fast foods or take aways between December and January.

EVENT: 14 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Set a target of swimming 21 miles (1 mile a week) and cycling 500 miles (25 a week) on excercise bike over next 4.5 months and still walking the dogs, and occasional treadmill weekly.
FOOD: The focus on healthy eating has slipped. So now start recording calories and excercise in Nutracheck app and Samsung Health app.
Re-focus on soups, salads, home made meals, vegetables and fresh fruit and largely avoid sweets, chocolate, fatty foods or foods with added sugar or excess salt.
COMMENT: Family event coming in June 2024 so motivation to be able to fit into a suit focuses the mind!

EVENT: 4.5 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Acheived the 21 miles of swimming 21 miles (Width of English Channel) and cycled the 500 miles (25 a week) on the excercise bike over the last 4.5 months and still walking the dogs, and occasional treadmill weekly.
FOOD: Maintained focus on healthy eating and recording my food intake in Nutracheck and excerise in Samsugn Health apps.
The focus on soups, salads, home made meals, vegetables and fresh fruit and largely avoiding sweets, cakes, chocolate, fatty foods or foods with added sugar or excess salt.
COMMENT: Was very pleased I fitted in a suit well for the family event in June 2024 which was very rewarding!

EVENT: 8 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Joined FightKlub for boxing exercise in November 2024 which I attend 2 to 3 times a week each session is 45 minutes. Walk the dogs. Plus have removed my office chair and standing at my rise and fall desk for the whole of 2025 to raise money for charity.
FOOD: The focus on healthy eating and recording my food intake is slipping though.
COMMENT: A busy seasonal period for work between November and January has again lead to a rise on weight.

EVENT: 12 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Still FightKlub'ing for boxing exercise 2 to 3 times a week with each session 45 minutes. Walk the dog and back to sitting at my desk since Jan 2026.
FOOD: The focus on healthy eating is still there but snack a lot more and eating larger portions. Not recording calories or exercise in Nutracheck and recording my food intake is slipping though.
COMMENT: A busy seasonal period for work between November and January has yet again lead to a further rise in weight.

EVENT: 4 Months Later.
EXERCISE: Still FightKlubing for boxing exercise in for 1 year 8 months now. Walk the dogs.
FOOD: Full re-focus on soups, salads, home made curries, chilli con carnes, vegetables, fresh fruit and other nutrient rich and healthy eating. Plus back to weekly recording my weight and tracking food in Nutracheck.
COMMENT: I am determined to be nearer 15st by my birthday in November! To achieve that will require some discipline in both tracking calories, cutting out snacks, and getting back on the excercise bike 2 ot 3 times a week.
NEXT TARGET: 15st
For general health and wellbeing my next target is around 15st which for me would be a BMI of 29.3. That is in the the "overweight" classification but to get to a "healthly" BMI would require a weight of 178 lbs for me or 12st 10lbs. I have not been that weight since my teenage years, so in my view unrealistic and maybe even not appropriate for my age and history. Will see how I feel at around 15st (last time felt good), and then go from there.
